Life and ....Boxes...

Salam alaykum... hope you're all healthy and in a good state of iman

we always hear about 'Muhasabah'... what comes to your mind when you hear this word?...
a common answer would be to reflect upon all the wrong that we have done... regret, repent and sorrow... another reason to do it (and a very important one at that), is to reflect upon our goals.... what we have, and haven't done in life... i mean... how many of us... set goals...
"Cuti 2 bulan ni, nak hafal 3 juzu la rasanya"
"Cuti ni nak pergi berjalan ke sana la"
"Before i graduate, i wanna master Arabic"
"i wanna get 4 flat for at least one semester during my course"
"dapat jayyid jiddan at least skali ntuk mana2 exam"
"Aku nak bawa perubahan pada sahabat2 bwah pimpinan aku"
etc. etc.

and of those many goals set, how many have been acheived, how many of those goals are we actually putting effort in acheiving?... tepuk dada tanya iman.... me and my colleagues are now currently on a 2 month vacation (longer actually)... and mmg tercabar perkara sebegini... tendency ntuk duduk saja, membuang masa, tanpa berbuat apa2... cukup tinggi...

Hers's an analogy.... let's imagine that every hour, we get a box from somebody... and by the end of the day, we look back at what we've put in those boxes (what have we done during the day).. ada kotak yg bercahaya (berzikir, tuntut ilmu, eratkan silaturrahim etc.), ada yg gelap (dosa, maksiat, ngumpat etc.) , ada pula yang kosong (masa2 terbuang, lelehan waktu)... so by the end of the day... ask yourself... how are your boxes?.. empty?.. hope not

Allah says in the Quran..

"wa saari'u ila maghfiratimmin rabbikum, wa jannatin 'aradhuhas samaawaatu wal 'ardh, u'iddat lilmuttakin"

Quran, Al-Imran 3; 133

"dan bersegeralah kamu kepada ampunan dari Rabb-mu dan kepada syurga yang luasnya seluas langit dan bumi yang disediakan untuk orang2 yang bertakwa"

also

"....Fastabiqu bikhairat..."

"...berlumba2lah kamu (dalam berbuat) kebaikan..."
Quran, Al-Baqarah 2; 148

just wanna stress on the second verse... "fastabiqu"... which means berlumba2lah...
ok...., anyone participating in a race would without doubt want to get first place right? nobody goes into a race saying..
"aku nak dapat no 2",
"aku nak dapat no 3"
right?... of course number 1 is what would be on his/her mind... the same goes for what is actually wanted from us from that verse... to be the best among the best... 'kebaikan' luas skopnya, and i think tak perlu syarah panjang sini... semua tau kot baik buruk
just nak share satu kisah pada zaman Nabi dahulu (mafhum kisahnya)

Nabi bertanya kepada para sahabat, "siapa nak masuk syurga?"... seorang sahabat terus mengangkat tangan (Ka'ab rasanya nama sahabat tu... xpe nt saya tanya balik)... kemudian Nabi berdoa "Ya Allah, masukkan Ka'ab ke dalam syurga"... and let's remember doa Nabi mustajab... Nabi himself mendoakan masuk syurga!... sahabat2 lain pun mengangkat tangan dan meminta Nabi turut mendoakan mereka (siapa tak nak?)... kemudian Nabi bersabda "Ka'ab telah mendahului kamu semua"... dan tidak mendoakan mereka...

lebih kurang ca2 la cite dia... siapa yg tahu cerita yang lebih tepat... jgn segan2 kongsi... tapi nampak tak kat sini?... pentingnya kita first... Sahabat yang first tadi, mula2 sekali angkat tangan... di situ kita nampak kesungguhannya.. jadi dapatlah beliau ganjaran...
2nd place, just doesn't cut it sometimes... contohnya.. ntuk dapat A... 80 marks... kalo 79 je, dapat B... 1 markah je... haa.. ca2 la...
mentality 'xpe, ada org lebih teruk dari aku', 'buat apa nak usaha sungguh2 dah tertulis kat luh mahfuz' (amboi2...)... patut dibuang jauh2, yang balik m'sia, balik mesir nt jgn bawak mentaliti tu, tinggalkan kat m'sia (yang ada mentaliti ni la).. but my readers semuanya hebat2... hihi...

tu je kot for today...

here's a nice song by Dawud Warnsby - The People of the Boxes

in this song, a box is also used as a comparison to life... but in a more materialistic way, duniawi in other words... listen to it and you'll see what i mean... then ask yourself... is that your life?

salam,

Firstly, I’m not familiar with the meaning. Please put in plain words :)

2nd, Every so often, we premeditated all the activities nicely. Nevertheless, the missions are not bringing about. Why?? Tepuk dada, Tanya iman.. Masalah ni bukan masalah nta seorang. Tapi masalah kita semua. Ape2pun, discipline is important.

Uit, jeles nye.. hehe..
